Mumuye artistry is world-renowned for its bold, "cubist" approach to the human form, which famously captivated European modernists in the mid-20th century. These figures, known as Iagalagana, served multiple roles within the community—acting as personal guardians, intermediaries for rain-making rituals, and symbols of judicial authority. Carved from a single block of dense African hardwood, this figure showcases the classic Mumuye silhouette: an elongated, zig-zagging torso that creates a dynamic sense of movement. The stylized head features a serene, narrow face with a traditional crested coiffure, while the "wrapped" arms encircle the body in a protective gesture, a signature trait of the Benue River style. The wood possesses a remarkably deep, dark patina, with an authentic age-sheen that highlights the sharp, confident chisel marks of the artisan.

2. FOR RANGES, COOKTOP, DROP-INS, DISHWASHERS AND REFRIGERATORS - FedEx Freight is used for delivery. FedEx will call to arrange a specific delivery time and you will have to arrange to be at the ship to address to accept the product. FedEx will not deliver the product in the premise.
We do not ship to PO Boxes.
Fedex Freight delivers the product curb-side only and arrangements to move the product inside the premise will have to be made by the customer.
Full insurance is included in all shipments. Tracking number(s) will be provided by the email supplied 1-2 business days* after the date of the order is placed and after which: - Items shipped FedEx Ground will take 2-4 business days* after processing date. - Items shipped FedEx Freight will take 3-5 business days* after processing date
