Before you hire
- Check the license on your state's contractor license lookup.
- Ask for a certificate of general liability insurance.
- Get a written quote that names the product and model number.
- Gas and 240V hookups need a licensed plumber or electrician.
- Read your product's install manual. Some warranties require professional installation.
- Ask whether a permit is needed and who pulls it.
